On the 2nd of March 2019, Inkululeko yeSizwe Association departed from its headquarters in Johannesburg and travelled all the way to the Northern Cape, Kimberly to do a presentation on an invitation extended by Bishop Mayongo of the General Church of The New Jerusalem in South Africa. Three churches attended the presentation which saw The General Church of The New Jerusalem in South Africa signing on the spot. While the other two churches showed great interest but wanted to discuss the IYA presentation with other executives in their churches before committing to IYA. “I invited Inkululeko yeSizwe Association with the aim to register under the association.” Said Bishop Mayongo Bishop Mayongo first heard about IYA on the news, when one of the news broadcasters covered the launch of IYA. “When I saw Inkululeko yeSizwe Association on the news, I knew I had to meet with the association. I loved their vision for the African church.” Said Bishop Mayongo Churches in Emang Mmogo and Kgalitshiwe (areas in Kimberley) are faced with land issues, with many churches situated in haphazard places. One of the churches present at the presentation told IYA that their church is situated on a dumping site. Engagements with municipal councils have fallen on deaf eyes.
